Daisies: You Ain’t Pushin ‘Em

You’ve been condensed; 58

years reduced to granules and packed in plastic.

How badly I want to pick through the pieces and

find your teeth;

I wish to see your smile—not in a fucking

photograph, or mixed within

images

projected in my dreams.

  1. This is powerful and hits very close to home. I have a keepsake urn that me and my son, when he’s old enough to understand, will sprinkle my dad out at his favorite nature center.
    Thank you ❤️

    1. Thank you so much! My mother passed last October, and I’m just working through my emotions. ❤
