The Right To Live

You have the right to hate me, but I have the right

to shelter

to food, and clean water.

I have the right to walk

to school, or church, or the market–

the right to be godless,

to be gay, to wear what I want.

You have the right to hate me, but I have the right

to be FREE–

I have the right to LIVE.

You have the right to hate me, but you do not have the right

to my body–so stop raping me,

and starving me,

and bombing me,

and shooting me dead.
